Are avocados bad to eat when on a low cholesterol diet?
I am following a low cholesterol diet and really love avocadas, but my food list says I can't eat them. Are they really that bad for people with high cholesterol? I don't mind giving up the meat and sugar, but not the avocados.

- Avocados are very low in cholesterol, but high in fat. The good news is that it's "good" mono and polyunsaturated fats. Consult your physician.
- There is no cholesterol in avocados. If it never had a liver, it never has cholesterol (with the exception of crustaceans). Though they are relatively high in fat they are very good for you.
- Avocados are rich in Monounsaturated fat, which can reduce your LDL (bad cholesterol) without lowering your HDL (good cholesterol). I really don't think you should avoid avocado. But if you have special medical condition, check with your doctor about this.
