- Your doctor will provide you with a diet sheet
- Avoid anything deep-fried and greasy. To lower your cholesterol, you need an intake of lots of unsaturated fats. Sources of unsaturated fats are almonds, pecans, peanuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, and olive oil. When cooking with olive oil, you may be cooking it with a food that has lots of saturated fats, which will increase your cholesterol. In order to cook with olive oil, cook it with a food that has no saturated or trans fat. Such as egg whites (no yolk), and chicken.
- no cheese , low fat milk , no cream & no fatty foods..............
- Keith is right. But you can avoid, liver, eggs, red meat, all dairy products, biscuits, pastry, suet. Everything else is ok. Use cholesterol busting spread on wholemeal bread each lots of fruit and veg (frozen veg steamed is best) and take a desert spoonful of cod liver oil each day and you will reduce your cholesterol level.
- You don't have high cholesterol. Somebody who doesn't know what he is talking about told you that you do. I would be worried if my cholesterol were below 300. I feel lucky to have a normal level of about 320. Low cholesterol can cause a lot of problems. Lowering cholesterol can cause even more problems.
