- genes and the way your body reacts
- You can inherit the tendency for high cholesterol even though your diet is excellent.....your age can also affect the level Maker sure you doctor monitors your blood levels carefully also the only thing i have been comfortable with to help my cholesterol is sterols and stanols they are natural and do not have the bad effects that Rx seem so cause me---i.e. legs
- Dietary cholesterol levels do not correlate with cholesterol levels in the blood. I would not recommend drugs. Drugs that lower cholesterol levels have not been shown to improve mortality, except in a narrow age range of men, and even then the difference is arguably insignificant. I recommend a diet that includes only the food that humans beings appear to have adapted to eating.
