What is the lifespan of a man who is 40 years old with a cholesterol level of 300 and left untreated ? Assume that he turns vegetarian.

  1. Why would you leave it untreated when it's so easy to treat? Losing weight, exercise and being vegetarian would help but some people have high cholesterol because of genetics. In that case the only thing that would keep it under control would be medication. Isn't your life worth it?
  2. No one can answer this unless we know if heart disease runs in your family. Cholesterol levels alone do not cause heart attacks. It is also smoking, drinking, over weight, lack of exercise and family history have a lot to do with heart problems. Best thing to do is get your cholesterol levels down with medication and the right foods and you may have a long life if you don't have heart disease in your family.
