Cholesterol Cholestrol

I have fibromyalgia and high cholesterol?

Many types of medicine put me into severe pain. Has anyone found a medicine for high cholestrol that doesn't affect their muscles.Does anyone else with fibro. have this problem with prescription drugs.

  1. The muscle problem is a rare side effect of statins. Fibromyalgia is a nerve disease. Non-statin cholesterol lowering medications are colestipol, cholestyramine, and niacin. On the OTC side, metamucil has shown to be effective for cholesterol and fish oil works for triglycerides.
  2. You could as well go to this website : http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fibromyalgia/DS00079 or /DSOOO79 those zero's never liked in the internet! take care !!!
  3. there are homeopathic cholestoral meds you can ask your doc about--i heard garlic is good-there is also something called cholest off- go into GNC or Vitamin shopp (or search their website) and ask what they have
  4. I had to stop taking the statin med I was on because of the increased muscle pain also. Has dietary changes and exercise( warm water or walking) helped you at all?
