I have fibromyalgia and high cholesterol?
Many types of medicine put me into severe pain. Has anyone found a medicine for high cholestrol that doesn't affect their muscles.Does anyone else with fibro. have this problem with prescription drugs.

- The muscle problem is a rare side effect of statins. Fibromyalgia is a nerve disease. Non-statin cholesterol lowering medications are colestipol, cholestyramine, and niacin. On the OTC side, metamucil has shown to be effective for cholesterol and fish oil works for triglycerides.
- You could as well go to this website : http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fibromyalgia/DS00079 or /DSOOO79 those zero's never liked in the internet! take care !!!
- there are homeopathic cholestoral meds you can ask your doc about--i heard garlic is good-there is also something called cholest off- go into GNC or Vitamin shopp (or search their website) and ask what they have
- I had to stop taking the statin med I was on because of the increased muscle pain also. Has dietary changes and exercise( warm water or walking) helped you at all?
